LifeScan (Scotland) Ltd is based in Inverness adjacent to the Raigmore Campus. Some 1500 employees are employed there and around 200 of these are involved in research and development. The company is a market leader in the development and manufacture of blood glucose monitoring systems for diabetes.

LifeScan has been very supportive of the Centre for Health Science and the Company intends to lease the second floor of the Highland Diabetes Institute to accommodate a team of 35 scientists. Lifescan’s tenancy in the Highland Diabetes Institute will provide the company with a higher level of interaction with clinical staff and patients thus enabling a deeper understanding of patient needs and closer links with staff in the NHS and UHI.
