Highland Surgical Bootcamp

*Places still available!*

The first surgical boot camp took place at the start of June 2011 and due to popular demand a further course will be running in May 2012. The course will run from 17th - 23rd May.  To download a copy of the course programme please see the link at the bottom of the page.

Organisation: NHS Highland, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, NES
Venue: Centre for Health Science & the Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness
Aimed at: CT1/2 (or ST1/2) trainees in General Surgery and Orthopaedics, and FY2 trainees with an interest in surgery. Knot-tying skills are required.  Booking priority may be given to CT1 / ST1.

The aim is for delegates to gain confidence in a number of key skills fundamental to early success as a Surgical Trainee, but less taught in other courses. As the name suggests, the programme will be intense, sociable and enjoyable, and simulation will feature strongly.

Faculty will be drawn from this and other centres, and will include leaders in their fields. The resources in the Inverness Clinical Skills Centre include wet lab, simulated ward area and experienced actors. In addition an optional outdoor day will be provided by Active Outdoor Pursuits.
