Centre Construction

Phase 1

Phase 1 was complete and occupied in October 2006.  The size of Phase 1 is 4,740m² (51,021 sq ft). 

Phase 1 of the Centre for Health Science contains:

   - Department of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Stirling Highland Campus
   - Highland Health Sciences Library
   - NHS Education for Scotland (NES)

Phase 2

The construction of Phase 2 started in January 2007 and was completed in July 2008.  The size of Phase 2 is 2,946m² (31,702 sq ft).

Phase 2 of the Centre for Health Science contains:

   -Access Dental (incl. 8 public NHS dental chairs)
   -Dental Institute (incl. 12 public NHS dental chairs)
   -Clinical Skills Centre
   -Centre for Rural Health
   -NHS Highland R&D Office
   -Centre Management Suite
   -Business Incubator Companies

Phase 3

Phase 3 was completed in November 2008 and is approximately 2,399m² (25,815 sq ft).

Phase 3 of the Centre for Health Science is known as the Highland Diabetes Institute. It contains:

   -NHS Diabetes Centre
   -UHI Department of Diabetes and Cardiovascular Science
   -Lifescan (Scotland) Ltd
   -Clinical Research Facility
